The name
"Un Filo Di Seta"
Un filo di Seta is Italian, and it means “a thread of silk”. The expression comes from when Amanda worked as a tailor in Turin in Italy.
She was there visiting relatives, and took the chance to work and gather a little new inspiration for future projects.
When she, with "Un Filo Di Seta" (a thread of silk), experimented to find the most stylish way to sew the top of the typically Italian angled breast pocket, she suddenly realised what her company would be called. Even early on during her training, she realised that her passion consists in working by hand. The more she learnt about the art of men’s tailoring and fitting, the more fascinated she became. For her, holding lapels in her hands and pad stitching a jacket into shape is a feeling beyond words.
She hopes that the wearers of her jackets will carry this feeling with them.

Un Filo di Seta buys in vintage pieces in wool of a great, genuine quality, we reuse the material och remake till hand made, stylish, unique suits.
The founder of the tailor´s shop is named Amanda Andersson and she is a certificated men´s tailor. She is passionate about two things: environment and craftsmanships. She would like to give high quality, vintage suits from our area, a second chance and remake them til modern, unique suits worth wearing for a long time period.
With her pieces, the focus is on the craftsmanship and fit! She takes the material apart at the seams and resew the jacket with full canvas construction. This ensures the piece has a good form, and extra strength is given in the pressing process. Through she sews by hand, she can build the jacket according to the exact shape of your body.
Most of her work is made by hand and everything is produced in Malmö, Sweden.
